SCIENZE BIOMEDICHE

Academic Year 2018/2019 - 1° Year
Teaching Staff Credit Value: 6
Taught classes: 42 hours
Term / Semester:

Learning Objectives

  • Biochemistry

The course aims to provide an appropriate preparation of biochemistry to the understanding of the structure and function of biological molecules and the meaning of the main metabolic events. After completing this module, students will learn general knowledge on the molecular basis of life, from the fundamental chemical properties of the substances, the structure and function of macromolecules involved in staying alive, both at the cellular and extracellular level , the metabolic transformations of biomolecules essential for the human body function. In addition, the student will know the meaning of changes in key metabolic pathways in different physiological and pathological contexts.

  • Pharmacology

The aim of this course is the knowledge for the general mechanisms of drugs action, the principles of pharmacokinetics, the adverse effects and the more important pharmacological interactions. After completing this module, students gain understanding the main pharmacological and pharmacotherapeutic mechanisms of different classes of drugs.
