METODOLOGIA EPIDEMIOLOGICA
Module EPIDEMIOLOGIA

Academic Year 2024/2025 - Teacher: MARIA FIORE

Expected Learning Outcomes

The course aims to provide the conceptual foundations and tools for planning and interpretation of an epidemiological study. At the end of the course the student must be able to set up the plan correctly of an epidemiological study by orienting itself between different observational designs and providing a statistical contribution to drafting a research report.

Knowledge and understanding.

This course will provide knowledge and understanding of: Epidemiological reasoning, Epidemiological indicators and designs, Main errors of epidemiological studies.

Ability to apply knowledge and understanding

At the end of the course students will be able to: Critically read the results of an epidemiological study, Correctly analyze data from an epidemiological study, Interpret the summary measurements obtained synthetically and in technical language

Course Structure

Lectures with the aid of video projections of slides in MS Power presentation format.

Required Prerequisites

Achievement of the training objectives set by the preparatory courses.

Learning Assessment

Learning Assessment Procedures

The evaluation of the knowledge acquired by the students is carried out through a written test aimed at verifying the learning of the various aspects of the subject and evaluating the student's critical ability.
