Basic Research: actually, the focus of his research is the identification and characterization of thyroid cancer stem cells, which are thyroid cancer initiating cells responsible of aggressive behavior and tumor relapse. Cells are isolated from thyroid cancer specimens.

 

Clinical research: thyroid cancer epidemiology, thyroid hormone homeostasis and applications on thyroid hormone replacement therapy, role of selenium on the outcome of autoimmune thyroiditis.
