Antonino Petralia
Prof. Antonino Petralia, was born in Mascali (CT) on 19.12.1959. He acheived Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery on 3/07/84. In 02.10.1990 he obtained the PhD in Psychobiology of mental disorders, with a thesys in "Biology and psychodiagnostic of panic disorder". In 06/12/1991 he obtained specialization in psychiatry. He was Director and Auditor of the Italian Association of Neuropsychopharmacology from 1992 to 1998,for his competences in neuropsychopharmacology.
From 25/01/1990 he carried out assistance activities in the Department of Psychiatry for inpatient and outpatient. Beside he is the chief of a specialized Unit for anxiety disorders.
Currently he serves as Senior Researcher and Professor of Psychiatry. He developed activity of teaching and research activities, by focusing on biological, therapeutic and rehabilitative nosographical aspects of adult patients with severe mental illness and developmental disorders. He published two textbooks on psychiatry, 7 monographs and 212 scientific papers on national and international journals.
